This Ol' Mall
My friend Pegs was so bored at home, she was itching to see civilization again, and not just the cat-ridden neighborhood. We decided to go malling at Serramonte. Caira at two months old has been a good girl lately, she has stopped giving her parents sleepless nights. When I gave her a small talk about being a nice girl, even if it's just for a week, she gave me her full toothless smile while she held my finger with her wet hand. I told her mother about that she said that the wet thing was her drool. The child has somehow managed to manipulate me.
Serramonte is the heartland mall of Daly City. It's a reputable "jologs" or a very cheap-y, corny place, as one scribe put it (maybe for the lack of "Gap") but the mall has upped itself a little bit by putting mini lounges around the place and putting up the four season signs around the fountain; plus more chairs and stalls in that area. Aside from that, the perimeter remained outdated, if they only change the colors on the wall like the dark hues adorned on the chairs the mall would look somewhat plush. There were also plants all around, I guess they were trying to infuse Feng Shui, so the overall look of the place was a confused vibe of old and new decorating elements, almost Frankenstein-ish...The mall's main draw are the minority population(pardon the oxymoron). This resulted in strange cultural encounters. Take for example a heated argument between a Chinese and a Hispanic woman:
Chinese woman: You go back to your country.
Hispanic woman: No, you go back to your country.
Chinese woman: But I'm already here.
(Try imagining this is the end of a commercial -- Only in Serramonte.)

I sincerely go to Serramonte for two reasons. First they're the nearest place with Ritz Camera, my haven, second Thai Spice - cheapest Pad Thai. Plus the owner gives me good karma by treating me with free stuff every now and then. So, long story that became a longer story, my purpose for being here is obviously clear. I accompanied Pegs later to where she wanted her feet to carry her while Caira is still staying true with her promise. We went home getting what we wanted. Later on I figured why Serramonte is trying to upgrade itself, an impending competition from Tanforan Mall which is scheduled to open by next year in San Bruno.

naman e, hinde ka na nag sawa sa Serramonte so boring, go to a new MALL like Sun Valley MALL it is huge. Or punta ka sa The RANCH the newest Antioch Shopping City.
Georgina,
Hahaha.
