It's Oh So Quiet

You could just not complain if the lights go out in your workplace. And it's just not the Burlingame industrial neighborhood grid that has to smile or not (since every year we get this a lot for having an antiquated transformer) but several areas in the Peninsula as well--Millbrae, San Bruno, Pacifica, SSF, yup share the love! 'Tis is also time to check if the backup power rig is in good working order, in this case the server went kaput when the power went out and the phone backup sys whistled a good five minutes before shutting down. So much for investing in unreliable back ups... Unlike past blackout incidents where we just basically go home whether or not the power comes back in the middle of the day, we opted to play the waiting game. I even had the gall to tell my boss #2 that I'm going to the bank during work hours. The day gave us a mild distraction, too, since it's one of my co-workers birthday we decided to lounge it out with pizza at Amici's in San Mateo. First time I tasted a fried eggplant in my pizza, hmm pretty average for me although everybody liked it.
