...And Now Back to My Regular Crap
Geesh, it's hard to follow thru with a general depressing story with a selfish depressing story. And I'm quite aware that no more photos exist where it should be. I'm still taking pictures in case you're wondering, and I know it's due, and I know you would rather run through visuals than peruse letters with colors. A semi-excuse would be I've been harassed with year-end work when the rest of the world are smooching daisies (fake ones i imagined), enjoying small fortunes of returned gifts to the store or momentary splurging on gift cards. I have a picture proof of my slavery later, and it's not photoshopp'd in anyway.
I didn't heed the warning, so, I finally got to watch the "Series of Unfortunate Events". I found the movie a little dragging. Not to get me wrong here I loved the visuals (which has Oscar nomination written on it) and the production design and the end animation credits, it was surprising people hung around to watch it. The story was melded from the three books and had the ending of the first book, go figure. Like Tim Burton, I never thought Daniel Handler, aka Lemony Snicket, was also highly influenced by Edward Gorey, it had that Edwardian era and gothic look to it. This also shows where I paid attention the most while watching the movie, which is really an unfortunate event, oh well...
I also had a brush with another children's movie, too, called the "Polar Express", IMAX-style. For some reason, I've been drawn to overcast movies that's as gray and rainy like the San Francisco weather. Or it could be just me.
