The Missing Cyan

It turns out that I got the case of the stomach flu along with the rest of people I had an encounter with this week...We got the same bug from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; and I know it's the same one because all of us has this flitting fear of eating anything on those days...so there, I am mentally weak to ever touch the keyboard and get some written output.

Friday means Mr. Teriyaki day for me.  It's a Japanese restaurant place half a block from my office owned by a Korean couple until recently.  There was a change of management and the place is now owned by another set of Korean guys, they have the same menu item but they added a laminated sushi menu to boot.  Now it is one of these days I managed to meet a couple of my co-workers outside the office environment which is really rare - one is a loan agent and the other is a tech support guy,  i'm going to call them Mr. Ninja and Mr. Techie respectively...They are two opposite magnets of each other.  Mr. Ninja is the chatty and wild one while Techie is the quiet one (as if their job description isn't explainable enough).  Ninja has a lot to say about the new service at the place, comparatively service-oriented than the last one.  I would say the former owners were understaffed but I cannot exactly laud the new one because they got my order wrong.  I just didn't tell them and Mr. Ninja.  I don't want to burst his bubble so soon.

They invited me to get some shots at Elephant Bar.  This is not my first time to take happy hour at lunchtime.  I almost got drunk once on appletini which Mr. Ninja treated me maybe for leading such a non-alcohol dependent lifestyle.  So this time, Ninja and Techie took out the shot glasses.  To play safe I got a chocotini this time, chocolate is passable for my stomach.  They had the Gray Goose.  Just a quick note though, Mr. Ninja and Mr. Techie were bartenders in their past lives; I thought I was in good hands.   I took a sip, Mr. Ninja took half and Mr. Techie drank all.   The reaction was instantaneous,  I got the instant buzzing.  It wasn't apparent with the guys but when we came back Mr. Ninja who was driving, went the wrong way, back to Mr. Teriyaki, while the silent Mr. Techie was laughing for no apparent reason and he was also singing... By the time we went back to the office, I thought of separating from them but the now hyper Mr. Ninja thought we should come as one in this secret bond of drinkinghood, now that i'm sort of part of it.  Yeah, right.  I did learn later on that this is their Friday activity like Japanese food is mine.  That explained why they disappear intermittently at certain work days...
