My First Photogram

Oh well, well, think I can still last longer without a picture? I had my first photo developing project-a photogram-- scanned by a good samaritan. He can do as much but I can't demand he make the scanning better, he's doing me a very nice favor and all. And I am so away from my rat hole, lately, thank God, to have the luxury (yes, a luxury) to glue my butt down and enhance it on Photoshop. There's more to the dark sides of the picture if you just click the image and see the ginormous, and i mean really huge, version of it (well, maybe not). So, make sure you have some enthusiasm intact...

The Madcat Film Festival has finally opened in El Rio, right by Mission and Cesar Chavez, a few blocks from Mitchell's Ice Cream. I am with a friend Zakia (she insisted it was her Turkish name) who had a short animation featured in the festival. Brave the cold and don't mind the sounds from the neighboring stuck-in-the 80s corny songs club. If you can, cuddle close to heat lamps, totally painless. You'll pretty much enjoy some of the women films. It's not a big venue but I feel so much at home with the artists and students again. So far, I had watched silent experimental movies with a musical score from a live band, and a slew of disturbing and funny animation. This Friday there'll be documentaries but the place will shift to ATA by Valencia and 21st streets. It's $7-20 sliding fee with free barbecue and gardenburgers galore. If you are some stranger who can spot me there maybe I'll treat you to a margarita, make sure I'm drunk first or say, "hey I saw your ugly blog" (I kid, I kid).
