Weekend Flashback (this soon)

Back to the grind. Turns out my back pain is nothing more than an aching sore muscle gone awry from some workout. I got an active person’s disease, nothing that ice wouldn’t remedy. What a nice way to complement swelling than a long drive to Los Angeles. By the time we reached our destination my sore was as big and hard as a cup support.

D, I, and my parents revisited the Universal Studio wasteland on our only leisurely long weekend trip. Usual characters abound but most of them now ride a party vehicle with unfriendly posse in tow. Not that those cartoon mascots were being ‘mobbed’ by overtly happy kids, but since when the staff tried to push back the crowd from taking pictures with their favorite characters. The posse is totally grumpy. I totally made the day of one of the most ignored characters in the park—Dracula. When I called out to him, “Hey, man!” he gave me the most sinister method acting of all -- >shivers< But I don’t believe he’s the real thing at all, why does he roam in broad daylight? Uh-oh, I think a character in the Van Helsing attraction has just escaped.

As for the rest of the vacay time, the day was too gloomy to do anything else but to encourage eating. My fave cheap spot is Zen Buffet restaurant at Long Beach -- $11.95, and they already include crab legs and oysters. Top that Mr. Todai... My folks also installed a nifty wooden flooring ala old Las Pinas home. Brings back not so far away memories. The trip was capped off by a visit from an old high school friend, A, who is as always packed with more stories than my brain could handle.

Well, that's how boring the trip turns out (it's much more descriptive if there are kids around)... enjoy your life.
