Carving Treat

This is the prize I got for carving the second best pumpkin at work. Not too shabby, it's a vase USB-powered speaker from Boynq. Not only that I also got an external storage thingie (80GB is kinda small time these days) but it doesn't work on my PC, so, I have to give it to Dave because he has a Mac, so unfair. But can't complain...
It was even my first time to carve a pumpkin ever since I came to the States. And I would say it's not that easy, especially with only my husband's dissecting set (for frog experiments) and swiss knife (ala Macgyver) as tools. I'm getting too old for these exploring the arts feats. I'm just glad I won something. I did not even take a picture of my first pumpkin, damn, but it's a white pumpkin carved with a face of Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas, with a Santa's cap and beard. And for the hard work I did the contest organizers did not even give it back, but threw away the pumpkin, and the $2 Santa cap is probably stored away by some janitor ready to wear for Christmas. Well, the HR person assured me there's some documentation somewhere, I just managed to give her a small guilt trip since I so wanted to show it to my sick grandmother, which is actually true. When I told my Lola, it brought a smile to her face, for Lola also thought I might have won money, to which I said, "I wish it was".
