Cidade de Deus should be in Criterion

I never thought Starz would show this movie quickly. How time flies when you're not watching cable for a second. Cidade de Deus or "City of God" is a very poignant, touching movie in a very gritty way. I really like this movie, director Fernando Mereilles used first time child actors who grew up in The City of God. The acting was so raw and you never thought it was even a reality for kids (from 10 yrs old) to carry guns in the street. It's hard to believe it's a true story, too. This is genuine gang-banging folks. I like the first scene here where the chicken flees from its butcher, got chased by gangs and ended up on the feet of the main character and then everything flashed back to the start of his story. That whole symbolism basically summarizes the movie for me. I'll end here, it will never do justice if I relate the story.
