In Defense of Lav Diaz
Cesar Montano -- you are a commercial filmmaker. You have no successful movies yet that has been lauded in international film festivals (as an actor you may have received that right). Stop slamming Lav Diaz just because he is against exploitation in the show business. Why do you have to hit below the belt with your claim that Lav has been asking for attention and "queso de bola" for Christmas. I admit that many independent filmmakers may live within poverty line in order change a society that has been narrowed by foreign mentality and undue commercialism. At least there are decent men who are out there to defend the plight of the people who have only a roof to call home, a torn shirt to call a dress and worn down sandals to call a nice footwear. Lav has every right to express a reality that few people (like you) in the commercial movie making business cannot accept or try to deny.
Again, Cesar = commercial, Lav = indie. It might help you to look at this equation again to figure out the difference. Please refrain from banking on the director fame that you don't have yet. At least if you have the gall to bash the credibility of a very well respected director don't do it on a "EK Channel".
