What Happens to Batman and Spiderman After Dark
This is a first hand account from my mom, I swear. She spotted them in Hollywood at night, waiting for a bus and walking hand in hand. You can still see them there, but if you take a picture you might need to pay them extra. Sorry to break the reality for you honey...
oOo
Now you have a basic idea where I spent my Thanksgiving. In general I still feel distant with this holiday even though it's fun to have a two-day vacation that spilled to the weekend. My mom came up with a last minute plan to celebrate Thanksgiving with the apartment tenants. Most of our neighbors are Filipinos as well who missed their children and family back home, sharing is an ideal activity for this night. We communed to the tune of a free fried turkey my dad got from work (the only thanksgiving related item) the rest are mix of fettuccine, lumpiang shanghai, lychee gelatin drink, mango cake, an ice cream cake and stories. There's no pressuring us to attack the mall the next morning, unfortunately, the folks have to work but I found a temporary haven to do my research paper at The Grove, this hip new place near Beverly Hills. Yeah, it may sound good (or not); certainly not the way to celebrate the holiday.
Saturday, I finally drove my mom's new blue car to Carson, woo hoo. They got a place there which is a quaint townhouse that is near the freeway. They were planning to close next year, so, should I decide to crash by their pad I have a new room to sleep on (and maybe later stay there, too hehehe). Carson is also close to a place where my old highschool classmate Amy lived. I thought the location would finally have us cross paths but that never happened. Next day, my parents and I went near that way again, this time in Torrance but that didn't materialize as well. I have to settle giving Amy's birthday gift to her brother Dexter who worked at Carson, which is near my parent's new place. But my effort has not been fruitless, I met another person in Carson who was my classmate in college named Tasha. She actually lived in Gardena and she just happened to be attending church that we found that afternoon, a serendipity moment. Tasha was one of the last person I saw when I left for the States. I never thought we would meet again. Congrats Tasha!... my last night in LA was spent chatting with Amy, another classmate named Stephanie and of course, my honey.
I'm happy enough to go back to work on Tuesday, only to get sick and type a blog on a resting Wednesday. Always happen.
