Say What

I try to join the circle of Pinoy bloggies who seemed so peeved by how foreign press can't seem to get an accurate news reporting as simple as a volcanic eruption of the Mount Mayon in Bicol. Heck even Fox news think that Mayon is in Indonesia when the whole article read the source of the news as Manila, Philippines.

This article from MSN looked decent enough. Until I came across their pretty NASA map and saw the neighboring island Mindoro.

Not only did a slight typo happen, but it almost made a toilet potty out of this copper producing region. Not wanting to sound uber-righteous here, but shouldn't media types at least make an effort with accurate reporting. It's not hard to do, just a touch of research and archiving would do the trick, methinks.

check out the map again. there's a 'mayon' town just north of where they put the volcano in. i don't think there's a town named after the volcano.
