I can no longer claim to be a domestically-challenged person. I finally used my Ikea starter kit to cook for a dinner for two. Woo-hoo. And I'm not just talking about getting shortcut sauces from the supermarket. I actually bounced from one market to the next to look for a piece of onion, a clove of garlic, one green pepper and meat etc, i.e. I made a meal from scratch. Man, I have never been so tired standing up and cleaning up the mess (and I mean keep the appliances new type of clean) but I was satisfied with what I made --corn chowder soup, steamed veggies and a panfried t-bone steak, marinated with rosemary, garlic, onion and Worcestershire sauce. Even if I don't eat too much meat, I have gone to pay the price of convenience of getting a special steak for this day. Mr. D was my judge, so, at the end of it his empty plate was the all the answer I need. I'm apt to take some pointers now from Food Network, ugh. (I know Alton Brown will never ever get fat for explaining too much about the science of cooking)

PS...And yes I did take a peek at Paris Hilton's phone book, planner and pictures. And also I viewed the geeky guy who danced to his heart's delight to "Numa Numa" without standing up. I'm just a person who is spending a normal weekend.
