Varicose Veins: 5, Goodbye Youth: 4 (to go)

My slow seepage to maturity continued when I attended a party for Mr D's aunt last Saturday. I did mention that I racked my brains out (well, I know it's doubly exaggerated) finding a dress that's about a junior standard. I did find not only one but three at Macy's downtown store. I have come to the conclusion that the other malls just lacked suppliers which I thought was kinda provincial, but yeah, enlisting the help of a shopping buddy / fashion consultant, Ms. N, the dresses suddenly found themselves flattering my booty. When I settled with a tiny tulle black dress, we later discovered the adult section of the dresses in my size and where the only fine line between its junior counterpart was the price. $250 difference was more like it, mission accomplished by the Justice League of America- Retail Division. I threw in a black shawl, 'bout $32 (what?!) and I have a complete dress ensemble. Ms N and I have to cram for the shoes which we fulfilled the next day from Bakers. It was strappy heeled shoes which I bought on sale for $20, with no time for break-ins, which also explained the extra point going to varicose veins...
My intro to my first formal gathering in the States was seamless. There was a considerable amount of cleavage exposure which the shawl helped it hide. Here's how I summed it up: I got a couple of blisters from dancing, there was no wardrobe malfunction other than the straps of my dress slipping down to my shoulder, the shawl did it's job hiding my armpits issue (i believe the $32 is trying to justify its worth), food was great, I lost two pins holding up my dress (which I'm not going to explain) and I lost one of the diamond stud earring my mother gave me, wahhh. I can only post one picture somewhere not here. I guess friends you know where to find it.
